Easy Sheet Pan Crunchwrap Recipe

Who doesn’t love a Taco Bell-inspired dinner made with slightly better ingredients? 😂

I’ve seen so many versions of sheet pan crunchwraps all over Instagram and TikTok that I finally wanted to try one with my own spin on it.

I originally made this for a Fun Friday in my dinner rotation, but it’s such an easy sheet pan dinner that you could easily make it during the week too.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

This recipe scratches that itch when you’re craving a Crunchwrap Supreme from Taco Bell, but you’re making it at home.

It is NOT THE SAME — and I’m not saying it’s better or worse. It’s just different.

It’s easy, it’s fun, and it really does taste delicious. Depending on the tortillas you use and how much ground beef you add, you can also make it a little lighter or higher in protein.

It’s basically taco night, just way more fun.

Ingredients

You’ll need most of your standard taco night ingredients:

  • Ground beef
  • Taco seasoning
  • Tortillas
  • Mexican cheese
  • Tostada shells
  • Nacho cheese
  • Plain Greek yogurt
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Pico de gallo

You can also add black beans to the meat for a little more protein and fiber. You can see how I like to make my taco meat filling in my easy taco bowls recipe.

And obviously, add whatever toppings your family likes.

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Two sheet pans
  • Oven
  • Cutting board

Ingredient Notes & Substitutions

Instead of sour cream, I used plain Greek yogurt.

If you don’t have burrito-size tortillas, regular tortillas work too. You’ll just need more of them. I used Carbmaster tortillas and ended up doing three rows instead of two.

As far as toppings go, do whatever you want.

Sour cream? Pico? Salsa? Avocado? Lime?

Get it.

This is your house, your crunchwrap — make it your way. 😂

How to Make a Sheet Pan Crunchwrap

Ground beef cooking in a skillet for the crunchwrap filling

Prepare the Meat

Cook your ground beef in a skillet until fully cooked.

I drain the fat first, then add the taco seasoning.

If you want to add black beans, drain and rinse them and mix them into the beef at this point.

Prepare the Sheet Pan

Preheat your oven.

Lightly spray your sheet pan with cooking spray. I use avocado oil spray.

Arrange the tortillas across the pan so they overlap and hang over the edges by about 3–4 inches.

If you’re using large burrito-size tortillas, you won’t need as many. I used regular Carbmaster tortillas, so I needed about three rows.

Add the Filling

Spread a layer of nacho cheese over the tortillas.

Add the seasoned ground beef and spread it evenly across the pan.

Top the meat with shredded Mexican cheese.

Next, add a layer of tostada shells.

Spread Greek yogurt over the tostadas before folding everything together.

Fold the Crunchwrap

Once your filling is layered, place a couple of tortillas across the center so there aren’t any gaps.

Fold the tortillas hanging over the edges toward the middle.

The Greek yogurt helps hold everything together a little bit while you fold.

Cover the Crunchwrap

Lightly spray the top of the tortillas with cooking spray.

Place your second sheet pan directly on top and press down gently.

This keeps the tortillas from opening while they bake and helps both sides get toasted.

Bake

Bake for about 20 minutes with the second sheet pan on top.

Remove the top sheet pan, then bake for another 5 minutes so the top can get golden and crispy.

Let It Rest Before Serving

Once the crunchwrap is done, remove it from the oven.

Place a cutting board over the top of the sheet pan and carefully flip everything over to remove it from the pan.

Then LET IT REST for 5–10 minutes.

The nacho cheese inside is going to be HOT.

Ask us how we know.

We burned our tongues because we didn’t wait. 😂

Once it has cooled down a little, cut it into 6–8 servings.

Top each piece with shredded lettuce, pico, Greek yogurt, avocado, salsa, or whatever else you like.

Tips for Success

Slice of sheet pan crunchwrap topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and sauce

Add the Lettuce and Pico After Baking

Do not bake your shredded lettuce and pico inside the crunchwrap.

I know some versions do this, but hot soggy lettuce and tomatoes are just not for me.

This is one of the reasons I say it’s Taco Bell-inspired, not an exact Crunchwrap Supreme copycat.

Taco Bell somehow gets away with toasting everything together without giving you gross hot lettuce.

I cannot. 😂

So I add all of the fresh toppings afterward.

Don’t Skip the Second Sheet Pan

Putting another sheet pan on top helps keep everything closed while it bakes and gives you that crispy, pressed texture.

Let It Cool

Seriously.

Let it sit for a few minutes before cutting into it.

That nacho cheese is molten lava straight out of the oven.

Storage & Reheating

I stored the leftovers in an airtight container with a little wax paper between the pieces so they didn’t stick together.

I heated one up for lunch the next day, and it was still delicious.

For the best texture, I’d reheat it in the air fryer or oven if you have time, but the microwave works too.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use large burrito tortillas?

Yes. They actually make assembling the crunchwrap easier because you’ll need fewer tortillas to cover the sheet pan.

Can I add black beans?

Absolutely. Drain and rinse them first, then add them to the seasoned beef.

Can I use sour cream instead of Greek yogurt?

Yep. I used Greek yogurt because that’s what we keep on hand, but sour cream works perfectly.

Can I make this ahead of time?

You could cook the ground beef ahead of time, but I would assemble and bake the crunchwrap right before serving so the tostadas stay crispy.

Sometimes Those Viral Recipes Are Actually Worth Trying

This was one of those viral recipes I tried and actually really liked.

It was easy to throw together, the kids liked it, my husband loved it, and it’s such a fun way to switch up regular taco night. Did I follow it 100%. No. I made a few changes that I thought worked better for my family. So don’t be afraid to modify things and experiment in the kitchen.

It’s officially in our dinner rotation, and I can absolutely see us making this one every month.

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 420°F. Lightly spray a large sheet pan with cooking spray.
  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain well. Season generously with Kinder’s Taco Seasoning.
  • Arrange the flour tortillas on the sheet pan, overlapping them so the bottom of the pan is completely covered and plenty of tortilla hangs over the edges for folding over the filling.
  • Spread the salsa con queso over the beef.
  • Spoon the seasoned ground beef evenly over the tortillas.
  • Sprinkle the shredded Mexican cheese evenly over ground beef.
  • Spread the plain greek yogurt on the tostada shells before arranging them over the meat, covering as much space as you can.
  • Fold the overhanging tortillas toward the center to completely cover the filling. Use an additional tortilla to cover any gap in the center if needed.
  • Place a second sheet pan on top to weigh everything down. Bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the top sheet pan and bake uncovered for another 5 minutes, or until the tortillas are golden and crisp.
  • Let the Crunchwrap rest for 5–10 minutes before cutting. The queso will be VERY hot. (We learned this the hard way.)
  • Cut into squares and top with shredded lettuce, pico de gallo and a dollop of Greek yogurt. Serve with a fork and add any other taco toppings you love.

Notes

Keep the lettuce and pico out of the oven and pile them on after baking. You get a hot, crispy, cheesy Crunchwrap with fresh, cold toppings instead of warm, wilted lettuce.
Make it your own: We used Mission Carb Balance tortillas, Kirkland Mexican-style shredded cheese, Tostitos Salsa con Queso, Guerrero tostadas and Kirkland plain nonfat Greek yogurt, but equivalent products work perfectly.
