Wynn Las Vegas Review: Rooms, Pool, Dining & More

This trip came about because my husband and I love bidding on silent auction items. A staycation package came up with two nights at Wynn Las Vegas, tickets to Awakening, and a $500 dining credit at SW Steakhouse, so naturally we put in a bid. And won. Which is how I decided it was finally time to do my own Wynn Las Vegas review.

We decided to use it as an early anniversary trip. Our actual anniversary is at the end of October, but my parents are our babysitters, and my dad is a hunter, so late October is basically spoken for. 😂

The timing ended up being perfect anyway. I was fully healed from my recent surgery, summer was over, and we were heading into our busy fall season. Two nights away felt like exactly the reset we needed.

About Wynn Las Vegas

We stayed at Wynn Las Vegas and spent most of our trip there, although Wynn and Encore are connected and we walked between both properties quite a bit.

Our room was 1817 with a Strip-facing view.

We actually considered upgrading when we checked in, but whoever booked our package had specifically requested a “17 series” room.

We had absolutely no idea what that meant.

The employee helping us explained that our room was near the Tower Suites and could connect to one, so we decided not to mess with whatever special request had already been made.

I’m very glad we didn’t.

Our room was gorgeous.

Our Room at Wynn Las Vegas

Room 1817 was toward the end of the hallway right before the Tower Suites and is listed as a “Resort King”

Our windows faced Las Vegas Boulevard, and we could see Lake of Dreams, Fashion Show Mall, Treasure Island, Palazzo, and the huge guitar being built for the future Hard Rock.

The room itself felt big without wasting space.

The bathroom had separate sinks with a massive shelving area between them, which meant both of us could spread out all our toiletries without fighting for counter space.

There was also a soaking tub, separate shower, water closet, cozy robes, and — because apparently Wynn knows exactly how to win me over — a Dyson hair dryer.

Fancy.

And there were mirrors everywhere.

Not in a creepy way. Everything was elegant and beautifully done.

Also, I swear Wynn’s mirrors make you look better.

Maybe it’s the lighting. Maybe it’s magic. Either way, I support it.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I loved that the TV could pull out and angle toward the bed when you wanted it, then tuck away so it wasn’t blocking the view.

Most of the room was controlled through an iPad, including the lights, curtains, sheers, and temperature. You could also use Alexa to open the curtains or turn the lights on and off.

It was one of those rooms where you notice how much thought went into the little details.

I had always heard that Wynn was obsessive about the guest experience, but staying there made me understand what people mean.

Grounds and Atmosphere

One of my favorite things about Wynn and Encore is that they feel luxurious without falling into the modern beige-everything trap.

The casinos feel rich, colorful, and elegant.

And can we talk about the carpet?

The girls will understand.

So many casinos have slick tile or, somehow even worse, those slick cobblestone-looking walkways. If you’re wearing stilettos — or really any heel — you’re sometimes holding onto your date because you love them and sometimes because you’re trying not to eat it in the middle of the casino.

Wynn has plush carpeting through most of the main walking areas.

I am here for it.

There are also tons of luxury stores throughout Wynn and Encore, including Cartier, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and more.

We spent quite a bit of time wandering through the Louis Vuitton store, which was huge and had these beautiful windows overlooking all the landscaping outside.

That is another thing Wynn does incredibly well.

Despite being on the Las Vegas Strip, there are trees, flowers, gardens, and greenery everywhere. At certain points, it genuinely doesn’t feel like you’re in Vegas.

Wynn Pool

The pool deck was beautiful.

There are so many trees and plants that it almost feels like you’re hanging out in a castle garden. That’s the best way I can describe it.

There were plenty of chairs in both the sun and shade, and the pool temperature was perfect — not freezing, but not bathwater either.

The hot tub was tucked into a little tree-covered area, so it stayed shaded and felt surprisingly private.

Pool service was good overall, although our nachos did come out cold.

Not everything can be perfect. 😂

But we had such a relaxing afternoon out there, which was exactly what we wanted from this trip.

The Wynn Fitness Center

I also made it to the gym one morning.

Corey grabbed coffee with me and then went to meet a friend to run the Strip because they’re training for a marathon.

That was not something I wanted to participate in. 😂

So I went upstairs and did my own little 5K while drinking my coffee.

Balance.

The fitness center was significantly nicer than most hotel gyms I’ve used. The equipment felt similar to what I use at Life Time, there was plenty of cardio equipment, a decent free-weight area, towels, and water.

And once again: amazing mirrors.

Either Wynn knows something the rest of us don’t, or the lighting in this property deserves its own award because I swear I looked 10 pounds lighter.

After my 5K, I braved the free-weight area.

It was pretty crowded, probably because we happened to be staying during Mr. Olympia week, but I decided I was allowed to take up space too, did my little upper-body workout, and went back to the room.

Where We Ate at Wynn Las Vegas

This might have been my favorite part of the whole trip.

Julie seated at a table inside Sartiano’s at Wynn Las Vegas

Sartiano’s Italian Steakhouse

Sartiano’s was my favorite meal of the weekend.

We ate there Friday before Awakening, and they were extremely accommodating when we told them we needed to make our show.

We already knew what we wanted, so we ordered everything pretty quickly and they paced the meal perfectly.

The restaurant itself was beautiful, the service was excellent, and — very important to us that night — it wasn’t so loud that we had to yell across the table.

We ordered the tableside fettuccine with shaved truffle, and it was unreal.

I was worried it would be overly rich, but it wasn’t. It was just ridiculously good.

We also shared a steak, caviar cannolis, and peppers.

Everything was excellent.

Then dessert happened.

We asked our waiter for his favorite, and he recommended the butterscotch pudding. We’ve apparently been in our butterscotch era lately, so obviously we ordered it.

Then I asked for his second favorite.

Tiramisu.

And I am ALL ABOUT tiramisu.

So naturally we ordered both.

They were both amazing, but if you only choose one, get the butterscotch pudding.

It sounds so simple, but the flavor with the candied pecans on top was perfect.

12/10. Worth the money.

Sartiano’s is officially an Italian steakhouse at Wynn, with handmade pastas, steak and tableside presentations, so our experience lined up pretty perfectly with what the restaurant is trying to be.

SW Steakhouse

SW Steakhouse is one of those classic Las Vegas restaurants.

It’s right on Lake of Dreams, the food is great, and the show — including the singing frog — makes dinner feel like an experience instead of just a meal.

We’ve eaten at SW multiple times and have always enjoyed it.

But because we had Sartiano’s the night before, it was very easy to compare them.

And surprisingly?

I’m giving the win to Sartiano’s.

If I had to pick one fancy dinner, I’d choose Sartiano’s for the food and quieter, more romantic atmosphere.

If you want great steak plus the Lake of Dreams experience, choose SW.

The location of your table matters too.

We’ve sat on the patio before, and it was fantastic. You get a better view of the show and it isn’t nearly as loud.

This time we were seated farther inside the restaurant and had a much harder time hearing each other. We were basically talking like we were in a club.

That particular night, we just weren’t feeling it.

Wynn does officially offer outdoor dining at SW along the Lake of Dreams, although outdoor tables are requested rather than guaranteed.

The Buffet at Wynn Las Vegas Review

The Wynn Buffet is a staple for our family.

If we’re celebrating something — especially a birthday — there is a very good chance we’re booking priority seating for breakfast.

When Selene was little, she used to call it the “ABC breakfast” because of the sign out front, so it has also become one of those random family traditions that stuck.

I think it’s the best breakfast buffet in Las Vegas.

And I’ve basically perfected my order at this point.

Made-to-order scrambled Denver omelet from the Wynn Buffet

First: Denver omelet, scrambled, from the omelet station.

Because health. Protein first. 😂

Second trip: breakfast tater tot, steak and eggs, and whatever ridiculous specialty carb they currently have.

During this visit, that meant bananas foster cinnamon rolls and banana bread French toast.

Then I head toward the pancake station.

Not for pancakes.

For the GIANT cinnamon roll.

The edges get all caramelized and they’re so good.

Then I go all the way to the other side for berries so I can pretend we’re balancing things out.

And if there is somehow still room?

Gelato.

Perfect breakfast.

The Buffet currently serves gourmet brunch daily and has 16 live cooking kitchens, plus its giant dessert and pastry selection. Priority seating can also be prepaid, which is what we usually do to avoid a long wait.

Terrace Pointe Café

Terrace Pointe Café is also really good and, depending on what you order, can end up costing about the same as going to the buffet.

It had been all over Instagram and TikTok because of the giant tableside cinnamon roll, so obviously we had to try it.

Even though it was just the two of us.

No regrets.

You can order the cinnamon roll different ways, and we chose crème brûlée.

It came out before the rest of our breakfast, and the server finished the whole thing tableside — icing, sugar, torching the top, berries, powdered sugar, mint.

If something is prepared tableside and there’s fire involved, I’m going to order it.

It was delicious.

Probably better suited to a table with more than two people, but we boxed up the leftovers and ate them later in the room.

Problem solved.

Terrace Pointe is Wynn’s casual breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant overlooking the gardens and pool.

Caffè Al Teatro

Pastry and food display inside Caffè Al Teatro at Wynn Las Vegas

We stopped at Caffè Al Teatro multiple times during the stay.

It’s adorable and completely matches the Wynn aesthetic.

Who needs Starbucks when you’ve got this?

There are coffees, pastries, quick meals, snacks, drinks and even beer because… Vegas.

We both ordered the iced Caffè Caramello, and it was exactly how I like coffee: you could actually taste the espresso, but there was still enough sweetness.

Just very balanced.

It’s also open 24/7, which is extremely useful in Vegas when normal meal schedules have basically stopped existing.

Awakening at Wynn

Julie and Corey taking a selfie inside the Awakening theater at Wynn Las Vegas

We were so glad we got to see Awakening during our stay because the show officially closed on October 10, 2026. It had a great little storyline, very much giving romantasy quest, and the costumes, sets, and acrobatics were all really well done. The theater was small enough that it felt very intimate, and it seemed like every seat had a great view.

They had speakers that came up around your head in between the seats, which was probably the only thing I didn’t love. I bonked my head on mine a few times while adjusting in my seat. 😂 I also thought the show could have been about 10–15 minutes shorter, but overall I really enjoyed it.

I kept thinking my girls would have loved it, especially the flying whale, the giant dancing fish, the huge phoenix at the end, and the ballerina going en pointe on top of a man’s head. The performers were incredible, and I’m really glad we got to see it before its final performance.

Things to Know Before Staying at Wynn Las Vegas

We completed online pre-check-in before arriving, but around 4 p.m. the app was still saying our room wasn’t ready.

Because we had a 5 p.m. dinner reservation, we decided to get in the regular check-in line instead of waiting for another notification.

The line looked long but moved pretty quickly. I think we waited around 15–20 minutes.

Once we reached the desk, the employee was able to find a room for us and get us checked in.

So based purely on our experience, if you’re physically at the hotel after check-in time and the app still says your room isn’t ready, it may be worth politely speaking with someone at the desk instead of just waiting around.

I’m not saying that’s guaranteed to get you a room faster.

It just worked for us.

The elevators were also surprisingly efficient for such a large property.

There’s controlled access to the guest elevators, and you scan your room key to enter. The elevators are divided between different floors, and even when the area was busy, I don’t remember waiting more than a minute or so.

And make your dining reservations.

Wynn restaurants are popular with tourists and locals, so the nicer restaurants can fill up quickly.

For the buffet, going early also helps. Wynn offers paid priority seating, which is the option we usually use.

Wynn Las Vegas Review: Is it Worth It?

Julie and Corey taking a mirror selfie in their Wynn Las Vegas hotel room before dinner

Yes.

Wynn Las Vegas is absolutely worth the stay.

Corey and I were actually talking about this while we were there.

It’s one thing to become one of the best hotels on the Strip.

It’s another thing to stay one of the best.

That requires constantly updating things, paying attention to what guests want, maintaining the property, and continuing to improve instead of assuming your reputation will carry you forever.

That’s what Wynn does well.

The rooms feel current. The property is beautifully maintained. The restaurants are consistently good. The landscaping is immaculate. Even little things like the gym, elevators, lighting, bathrooms and coffee shops feel considered.

We’ve been coming to the Wynn Buffet multiple times a year for roughly eight years, and it’s still consistently good.

That’s impressive.

Would We Stay Again?

Absolutely.

For us, Wynn works especially well as a couples staycation. Our anniversary weekend felt romantic, relaxing and luxurious without us ever leaving Las Vegas.

But I can also see us bringing the girls for a family staycation.

Swim at the pool, eat breakfast at the buffet, walk across to Fashion Show Mall, get treats, and just enjoy the property.

We already visit Wynn multiple times a year for restaurants and the buffet.

Now that we’ve actually stayed there?

I’d happily do it again.
