Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

My family recipe of chocolate chip cookies with a twist - sprinkle of sea salt on top!

Equipment

  • 1 Kitchen-Aid
  • 1-2 Cookie Sheet
  • 1-2 silicone pad
  • 1 Cookie Scooper
  • 1 Measuring Cups
  • 1 Measuring Spoons
  • 1 cooling rack
  • 1 spatula

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2.5 cups flour
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 12 oz chocolate chips or more - I don't measure this :)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Cream butter and sugars together in a KitchenAid.
  • Add eggs and vanilla. Mix.
  • Add flour, soda, and salt. Mix.
  • Add chocolate chips until you have enough :) Mix on lowest setting while you pour them in.
  • Using cookie scooper, scoop out cookies and place on silicone mat. 3 x 5.
  • Bake for 10 minutes at 350 F
  • Cool slightly on the pan, and then remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Measure chocolate chips with your heart. 
Ovens differ, so check your cookies.  For a crispier cookie, let them sit on the pan longer; for softer cookies, remove to a cooling rack quickly.
